A small diameter pipe is inserted through and extends beyond the hole in the sidewall of a larger pipe to which it is then secured at the join by e.g. solder. The small diameter pipe (3) is externally secured to the larger diameter pipe (4) by a holding fixture (7) in the shape of a figure of eight, the dimensions of which fit around the respective pipes. The fixture is made of e.g. aluminum, copper or plastic.
