A ring gap (6) is formed between the housing wall and a base plate (5) that divides the space inside the housing into a rotor chamber (7) and a separation chamber (8). The moving rotor parts (14) are located inside the rotor chamber, which is connected to a gas outlet (12). The inlet (10) for the mixture of gas and particles and the outlet (11) for the particles are both connected to the separation chamber, separated by an axial distance so that the inlet is closest to the base plate.
