The aim of the invention is to allow particles to chemically bind just as easy as soot in polymeric phases, especially in rubber. In addition, the invention relates to a production method and to the utilization of said particles. The inventive coated particles are comprised of a core made of a combination of a metal or semimetal with a non-metal, and of a shell made of soot. The inventive particles are produced by converting particles which are made of a combination of a metal or a semimetal with a non-metal into an aerosol form, and the particles, together with a gas at least containing an aromatic compound, are guided through the plasma zone of a microwave plasma. The coated particles are especially suited as additives in the production of rubber.
