Signal communication system for host and data processor

The interface system provides a connection between a host and a data processor and allows information to be handled in an energy saving mode. In this mode the power to operate the interface is switched to a low level. The switching control circuit for the interface responds to two different status signals. Independent claims are included for a communication apparatus of the interface apparatus and a data processing apparatus.
