PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glass composition high in mechanical strength, little in the generation of pores, and useful for obtaining sealing glass giving glass- bonded parts high in reliability even for magnetic parts low in heat-resistant temperature by selecting a specific glass composition. SOLUTION: A glass composition containing one or more of rare earth elements (e.g. Er) preferably selected from Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu in a glass base phase (e.g. a glass base phase comprising PbO, SiO2 , B2 O3 , Al2 O3 , ZnO, and Na2 O) and further containing crystalline particles containing the same kind of the rare earth elements (e.g. Er) in a dispersed state is selected. A low expanding filler material (e.g. zirconium silicate) is dispersed in the glass composition to obtain a sealing glass.
