Seed drill

The seed drill has the sowing heads (16) trailed behind compacting wheels (21) and fitted to the same supports as the compacting wheels. Each compacting wheel is combined with one or two sowing heads to form a separate unit which is trailed behind a transverse support beam (17) by a parallelogram of support levers which is spring loaded to provide a set ground pressure for the compacting wheels. The sowing head supports have additional springs (24) to enable the sowing heads to be deflected upwards by obstructions.
