Process for the production of laboratory gases in exact dosage from solids and/or liquids following reaction initiation, using a vessel serving as a storage container and reactor loaded with one or more laboratory gas precursors, in equivalent amounts and catalysts. The vessel is closed and so pressureless, transportable and storable, and is equipped with a fixture in addition to a gas outlet. An Independent claim is included for a device for carrying out the process whereby the vessel has an elongated straight or curved form.
