Device for cutting hair, and more particularly slicing it. Slicing is treating relatively narrow bands of hair in order to obtain a particular effect. This produces a very variable pattern in the hair. Such a local treatment of the hair is obtained with the device, which comprises a handle (2) with a cutting blade (12) at its free end. The cutting face of the cutting blade (12) is situated perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of said handle (2) and has an effective width of less than 10 mm. With such a device, the hairdresser can work on the desired lock of hair locally.
