TELETEXT MULTIPLEX BROADCAST TRANSMISSION SYSTEM IN MPEG 2 SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To encode or decode a teletext multiple broadcast signal and information data together with an image signal with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A multiplexer/demultiplexer circuit 42 extracts a teletext multiplex broadcast signal from an input video signal 41a, adds required minimum information to the signal and gives the result to a packet assembling circuit 43. The packet assembling circuit 43 assembles packet data by adding an information flag and a synchronization flag to line data such as the teletext multiplex broadcast signal and gives the packet to a data multiplexing circuit 46 through a data channel. A video coding circuit 41 applies moving image coding to the video signal corresponding to a valid pixel area of an input video signal by means of the MPEG(moving picture experts group)method and gives the video coding data to the data multiplexing circuit 46. An audio coding circuit 44 applies audio coding to the input audio signal by means of the MPEG method and gives the audio coding data to the data multiplexing circuit 46. The circuit 46 multiplexes the packet data, the video coding data and the audio coding data and outputs the multiplexed data to a transmission line 5.
