PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor that can absorb shock being applied to a casing and at the same time prevent a dirty substance from entering, has a simple structure, and has a high production efficiency. SOLUTION: A gas sensor 1 is provided with a detection element 52 for detecting a specific constituent to be detected being contained in gas in an atmosphere and a casing part 53 that accommodates the detection element 52 and at the same time where a gas communicating part 54 for guiding the gas from the atmosphere to its own inside is formed, and is covered with a filtering/shock-absorbing part 55 where the outside of the casing part 53 is constituted by a PTFE porous fiber structure body and the like. The filtering/ shock-absorbing part 55 is softer than the casing part 53 and has a breathing property and covers the surface of the casing part 53 in a manner where the gas communicating part 54 can be blocked, thus functions as the filter of a gas OG being introduced toward the gas communicating part 54 and at the same time playing a role of a shock absorption layer that absorbs shock being applied from the outside and protects the detection element 52 in the casing part 53. |
