Use of reactive components for moisture-stabilizing crosslinking of starch as binder in mineral fiber plates comprises dehydrating and drying the plates in an oven such that the starch binds the fibers in the fleece and crosslinking at 110-170 deg C. An Independent claim is included for the use of reactive components for moisture-stabilizing crosslinking of starch as binder in coating compositions for mineral fiber plates comprising dehydrating and drying the decorative coating composition such that the starch binds the pigment particles in the fleece and crosslinking at high temperature.
