<p>There are disclosed: (i) a first solid catalyst component (A1) obtainable by contacting (a) a carrier comprising carboxyl group-carrying polymer particles having an average particle size of from about 1 to 200 mu m, (b)an organometallic compound of a metal of group 1, 2 or 13 of the periodic table of elements, and (c) a transition metal compound of a metal of group 4 of the periodic table of elements, and a second solid catalyst component (A2) obtainable by contacting (a), (b), (c) and (d)a phenol compound, and production processes of the solid catalyst components (A1) and (A2), (ii) a catalyst obtained by combining the solid catalyst component (A1) or (A2) with an organoaluminum compound(B);and (iii) a process for producing an olefin polymer with a catalyst of the invention, wherein the polymer produced is extremely low in its content of lower molecular weight components and low crystallinity components, and superior in its powder properties.</p> |
