The component (2) is placed against the surface of the structural member (1) and a castable material (3) introduced between the two parts hardens to form an intermediate holder (8) which mechanically locks into the component and bonds to the structural member surface. The casting material is formed into an intermediate holder by a chamber (6) in the component (2), the chamber being either a groove, recess or similar feature which is open to the surface of the structural member. A filling device with nozzle (7) feeds casting material into the chamber via an opening in the component. A clamp with an opening for the filling nozzle may hold the component against the structural member.
