Portable blood sugar measuring instrument in body fluids

The instrument performs optical analysis of a test slide (32) and consists of a two-section housing (10,12) with a slide compartment (30). The first housing section (10) contains the measuring optics, evaluation circuit, current supply and server element, as well as the display unit which can be read through a window (22) in the casing. The second section (12) holds the slide in position with an open section (34) in line with the measuring optics when the sections are put together. Slides can be easily removed and exchanged. All the instrumentation is carried on a bearer-plate inserted in the first section of the housing, over which the second section carrying the slide is fastened.
