Method for the fabrication of a laminated structure made up of a number of superimposed metal sheets, comprising the following steps : (a) effecting a preliminary joining of two adjacent sheets from the blank metal sheets (n, n-1, n-2), by welding at some predetermined positions (A) on the two blank metal sheets whilst the blanks are superimposed on each other in order to make the blank overlap the adjacent two metal sheets; and (b) cutting the overlapping blank metal sheet along a predetermined cutting line (C) by means of a laser beam (34) emitted by a laser cutting machine (30), in such a manner that a point of concentration of the laser beam formed on an exposed surface of the overlapped blank metal sheet may be displaced along the cutting line (C). The preliminary joining of the sheet metal blanks may be carried out by spot welding.
