<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flue gas desulfurizer and a method for treating gypsum slurry in which high filtration performance is attained without increasing filtration area when separating gypsum from gypsum slurry formed by desulfurization of waste gas and drain slurry. SOLUTION: As a gypsum separator, there are provided a belt type vacuum dehydrator 50 in which an endless filter cloth 56 is supported on a belt 52 having gas permeability spread between drums 51 so as to be freely traveled, and mixed slurry fed onto the filter cloth 56 from a feed tank 60 is sucked from a dehydrating chamber 54 installed below the belt and held at negative pressure to separate it into filtrate and gypsum, and a particulate layer breaking mechanism 51 installed over the filter cloth 56 and inserted into at least an upper particulate layer of cake consisting of gypsum slurry and drain slurry conveyed to form a grooved part in the upper particulate layer of the cake as they are conveyed.</p> |
