PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vinylidene chloride-base latex blend liquid which, since it is hardly sucked by capillaries formed in the spacer between pulp fibers of paper, imparts moisture resistance to wrapping paper, etc., at a low coating wt. SOLUTION: This blend liquid is prepd. by compounding (A) a latex obtd. by the emulsion polymn. of a monomer mixture comprising 86-94 wt.% vinylidene chloride, 0.5-3.0 wt.% carboxylated vinyl monomer, and 3.0-13.5 wt.% at least other vinyl monomer copolymerizable with these, with (B) a thickener, and is characterized in that, when the solid content of the compsn. is 50%, then the viscosity is 50-5,000 mPa.s and in that the values ofαcalculated from the equation: logη=α×S+β[whereinη(mPa.s) is viscosity; and S (%) is solid content] by using viscosities at solid contents of 50% and 60% are each 0.073 or higher.
