PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new RNA which consists of a satellite RNA containing a specific base sequence, can control cucumber mosaic virus by inoculation of a cucumber mosaic virus attenuated virus containing the satellite RNA, and gives cucumber mosaic virus-resistant plants. SOLUTION: This is a new satellite RNA containing a base sequence shown by the formula. A cucumber mosaic virus(CMV) attenuated virus containing the satellite RNA is not mutated by subinoculation. The virus has an effect of controlling CMV also by inoculating to many kinds of plants including green pepper. A CMV-resistant plants can be obtained by inoculating said attenuated virus to a plant. This satellite RNA is obtained by inoculating an attenuated virus containing the satellite RNA to a tomato seed leaf to infect, allowing the virus to grow for 1-4 week(s) or so, extracting RNA from the seed leaf by the conventional method, synthesizing cDNA thereof, amplifying the cDNA by the PCR using a DNA primer homologous to the 5' end of the satellite RNA, followed by obtaining RNA from the obtained DNA. |
