PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bathing agent having both improving effects on water quality and humectant properties in combination in addition to warm bathing effects and further high safety for human bodies and the ecosystem without damaging a bathtub. SOLUTION: This bathing agent contains a chitosan powder as an intact water-insoluble powder. The particle diameter of the chitosan powder is not especially limited, but is preferably 1-200μm from the viewpoint of the one capable of industrially producing the chitosan powder, comfortableness in bathing or dispersibility in a bathtub. Although the molecular weight of the chitosan used herein depends on the treating time of deacetylation of chitin, the concentration of the treating solution, etc., the molecular weight is preferably <=100,000 recognizing some water-solubility from the aspects of direct effects of actions of the chitosan on the human body as the bathing agent.
