<p>A biosensor protein according to the invention comprises a fusion protein of a) a protein of interest containing a hydrophobic region, or a part thereof, and b) at least the chromophore part of the GFP protein, wherein the GFP chromophore part b) is located within the hydrophobic region of the protein a), and protein a) is sensitive to a signal leading to a conformational change or change of the environment of the chromophore part such that the chromophore's optical properties are changed. Further subjects of the invention are recombinant DNA sequences encoding such biosensor proteins, cell lines which are stably transfected with such recombinant DNA sequences, processes for the determination of the presence or absence of an effector molecule in a sample and test kits useful in such processes. <IMAGE></p> |
