2-Fluoro-3-de((2,6-dideoxy-3-C-methyl-3-O-methyl- alpha -L-ribo-hexopyranosyl)oxy)6-O-methyl-3-oxo-erythromycin derivatives (I) and their salts are new. 2-Fluoro-3-de((2,6-dideoxy-3-C-methyl-3-O-methyl- alpha -L-ribo-hexopyranosyl)oxy)6-O-methyl-3-oxo-erythromycin derivatives of formula (I) and their salts are new. A = OH; B + carbon in position 10 = double bond; A + B = carbonate or carbamate; and OZ = OH, ester or ether. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the preparation of (I); and (2) the derivatives of formula (II) obtained from (I), and intermediates of (I: A + B = O-CO-NR; R = not defined).
