摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give a guide wire a flexibility at least to a tip section and to improve the ability for inserting into a blood vessel by forming at least one part of a metal filament out of a metal glass alloy having a subcooled fluid structure over a specified temperature range. SOLUTION: The guide wire 11 comprises a core 12 and a spring 13. The core 12 is tapered from a core tip section 14 of a diameter of 0.15 mm to a core main body 15 of a diameter of 0.9 mm. An entire body of the core 12 is formed from a metal glass alloy of Zr-Al-Cu-Ni which has a temperature range having a subcooled fluid structure is over 35 K. The tip of the spring 13 forms a terminal process section 16 to contact the tip core section 14. The spring 13 and the terminal process section 16 are treated to be covered with a coating layer 17 made of synthetic resins. The main body having a high rigidity, excellent in torque ability for transfer, and the guide wire, of which tip is flexible, strong against buckling can be obtained to make it possible to smoothly insert the guide wire into the blood vessel.
