PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability of a honeycomb structure, by tightly winding a holding member which is used in case of assembling a ceramic honeycomb structure into a metal can body and on which a low-frictional layer is formed, and successively pushing the holding member into the metal can body while compressing it simultaneously. SOLUTION: Concerning a structure 1 composed by assembling a ceramic honeycomb structure 1, together with a holding member 2 which holds the structure 1, into a metal can body 5 using a pushing jig 3 by a pushing method, a low-frictional layer is formed on the surface of the holding member 2, on the side contacting with the metal can body 5. As the low-frictional layer, a low-frictional layer, having a coefficient of static friction on the surface, measured by JIS K125, of 0.15 or less, preferably 0.10 or less, is preferable. Also, the low-frictional layer is formed from any one selected from the group comprising paper, synthetic paper, synthetic resin-impregnated paper, synthetic resin-coated paper, oil and fat-impregnated paper and oil and fat-impregnated synthetic paper. |
