<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the deviation and variations of a hit ball in the lateral direction of the hit ball deviating from a sweet spot and to decrease the uncom fortable feel at the time of hitting the ball by specifying the inertia main axis in the toe and heel direction passing the centroid position of a golf club to a specific angle with the club face. SOLUTION: At the time of designing a head, the inertia main axis X1 in the toe and heel direction is so set as to attain the angleθ1 below±10 deg. with the club face 2, more specifically the face P1 parallel with the face reference plane P (the face having the extension line of the centroid G orthogonal with the club face is recommended to be adopted as a reference). In such a case, the result is better as the angleθ1 is smaller. The angle is set preferably at <=±5 deg., more preferably <=±3 deg.. As a result, the rotation in the toe and heel direction acting at the time of hitting the ball with the deviation from the sweet spot is approximated to the direction parallel with the club face 2 and the movement in the lateral deviation direction of the club face 2 is decreased, by which the rotation may be made into the vertical movement.</p> |
