PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new peptide comprising a peptide having a specific amino acid sequence, having an opening action on aquaporin 5 water channel, useful as a therapeutic agent for keratoconjunctive epithelium disorder such as xerophthalmia syndrome (dry eye), etc. SOLUTION: This new peptide comprises at least one of peptides with amino acid sequences of formula I to formula IV, has an opening action on aquaporin 5 water channel and is useful as a medicine composition, especially a therapeutic agent for keratoconjunctivitis epithelium disorder such as xerophthalmia syndrome (dry eye), etc. The peptide is obtained by extracting lachrymal gland from a male SD rat and a male BALB/C mouse, separating lachrymal gland poly (A)<+> RNA by a conventional method, synthesizing a cDNA by using the lachrymal gland poly (A)<+> RNA, carrying out cloning by a PCR method by using a primer composed of a partial sequence by the cDNA as a template, integrating an obtained gene into a plasmid, transducing it into the oocyte of Xenopus laevis and expressing the gene. |
