摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate the leveling with excellent accuracy by using an aluminum plate for a roll gap measurement plate to improve the measurement accuracy of the roll gap. SOLUTION: The desirable properties of a measurement plate are that the coefficient of friction is not changed by the rust on the surface, the spring back after the reduction is less apt to generate, and the yield strength is appropriate. If the reduction load is 1500 ton, the yield stress is preferably 15-30 kgf/cm<2> . Measurement plates 1a, 1b are fixed to a rectangular frame 7, and loaded on a lower roll 2 of a rolling mill, and the measurement plates 1a, 1b are arranged at the specified positions on the operation side and on the drive side. The rectangular frame 7 is of the shape in which a circumferential surface of the roll 2 is locally inscribed. The measurement plates 1a, 1b are stationarily reduced by upper and lower work rolls. The position of a reduction screw during the reduction is recorded to obtain the difference in the position between the operation side and the drive side. The thickness of the measurement plates 1a, 1b is measured to from the roll gap, and the differential roll gap between the operation side and the drive side is obtained.</p>
