PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth the rolling of a ball and to stabilize the directivity of the hit ball as the feel transferred to hands at the time of hitting the ball is soft and the hitting sound is light and has the timbre resembling the timbre of wood and the contact time between the ball and the clubface is long at the time of hitting the ball. SOLUTION: This head consists of <=0.25% C, <=0.30% O and the balance titanium and inevitable impurities. In addition, the putter head or the iron head of the golf club has the clubface comprising a porous titanium sintered compact having a relative density of 78 to 95% and a Young's modulus of 50 to 97 GPa. The head described above is formed by applying a molding pressure of 1.0 to 5.0 t/cm<2> on titanium powder having an average grain size of 50 to 180μm and subjecting this powder to sintering under a vacuum for 20 to 180 minutes in a temp. region of 1,100 to 1,250 deg.C.
|
