COVERED ELASTIC YARN, PRODUCTION OF COVERING YARN FOR ELASTIC YARN AND STOCKING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain stockings excellent in transparency and durability or the like. SOLUTION: This covered elastic yarn obtained by coiling a polyamide filament as a covering yarn around an elastic yarn as a core yarn comprises the polyamide filament having 5-15 de yarn size, 1-15 filament count, >=8.0 g/de strength and <=40% elongation. The stockings are obtained by using the covered elastic yarn at least at one part of leg parts. The production method of the covering yarn for the covered elastic yarn is characterized by spinning a polyamide having <=2.9 relative viscosity at >=3,000 m/min spinning speed, drawing and heat-treating the spun yarn without winding the yarn to provide the polyamide filament having 40×10<-3> -50×10<-3> birefringence and 1.130-1.135 g/cm<3> density, and subjecting the obtained polyamide filament to heat-drawing of >=1.05 times.
