The printer head has a piezoelectric device with an insulating substrate (10) having a series of surface recesses (16), acting as pressure chambers. The printer head has one or more displacement layers formed in the substrate beneath each recess. Each displacement layer has a pair of control electrodes (18) and a piezoelectric layer (20), activated for providing a pressure pulse for ejection of the printing ink.
