PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage of an outer peripheral wall and corner of a honeycomb structure by improving in good balance an isostatic strength and heat resistant impact resistance of the thin-walled honeycomb structure. SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure 1 comprises a plurality of cell passages 3. A thickness tc of a basic cell partition 2b of a cell partition 3 for constituting the structure 1 is tc<=0.11 mm, a thickness ts of an outer wall 4 is ts>=0.2 mm, an open area ratio of a thick part of the partition 2b is 80% or more, and a thickness tr of the outermost circumferential cell partition 2a and a thickness tc of the partition 2b and a thickness ts of the wall 4 have the relationships of formulae of 0.7<=tc/tr<=0.9, and 0.3<=tr/ts<=0.7. |
