PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject pigment capable of solving problems of defective appearance caused by weld mark and weld dichroism by coating at least one side of each glossy polyhedral particle with a (translucent) transparent resin. SOLUTION: This pigment is obtained by coating at least one side of each glossy polyhedral particle with a (translucent) transparent resin. Preferably the polyhedral particles are composed of metal powder, nickel sulfide, cobalt sulfide, a metal oxide, white mica, titanium dioxide-coated mica, etc. Preferably the maximum diameter of the polyhedral particles is 1-200μm and the average aspect ratio (the length of major axis/the length of minor axis) is preferably 1/8 to 1/1. A resin selected from an acrylic resin, a vinyl chloride-based resin, a polyethylene-based resin, a silicone-based resin, an epoxy-based resin, a natural rubber, etc., is preferably used as the (translucent) transparent resin. The ratio of the polyhedral particles in the pigment is 0.5-99.9 wt.% based on the total of the polyhedral particles and the (translucent) transparent resin.
