PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impeder for manufacturing a welded tube capable of improving the service life of the impeder and productivity of an welded tube more than the conventional products. SOLUTION: In an impeder consisting of a laminated silicon steel plate 9 as an impeder core, which is used in the case of manufacturing an welded tube by pressurizing an open seam part of a skelp 1 formed in a tubular shape with a squeezing roll while supplying a medium frequency current into a work coil 2, one part of the silicon steel plate right under the work coil is composed of a pressed powder magnetic core 10 manufactured by sinteringα-iron power 11 which is coating-processed by ferrite 12.
