FLAME-RETARDANT ABSORBENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant absorbent containing a flame-retardant fiber and a water-absorbing flame-retardant fiber in specific state, keeping excellent flame-retardancy without lowering the liquid absorbing performance and suitable e.g. for the ink-absorbent of ink-jet printer. SOLUTION: This flame-retardant absorbent contains a flame-retardant fiber and a water-absorbing flame-retardant fiber (the water-absorbency is preferably >=10 g/g) in a state to form a nonwoven fabric with the flame-retardant fiber and the water-absorbing flame-retardant fiber by needle-punching after blending and carding. Preferably, the flame-retardant fiber has an LOI value of >=25 and its blending ratio is 5-95 wt.%.
