PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure such an inflational behavior as restraining an occupant early enough by inflating an air bag at both upper and lower parts mainly in the approximately height direction of a vehicle, at the initial inflational process of this air bag, owing to its simple structure. SOLUTION: In this system, an insertional section 30 covering a gas blowoff part 14a of an inflater 14 inserted into an air bag 16 from the body side of a base member 12 is installed in a retainer 18 being set up on the inside of the air bag 16 and securing the opening part 21, to an occupant side of the base member 14. The insertional section 30 is projectingly installed as in a turned recess form toward the occupant side by means of drawing press work. A blowoff opening 31, to open vertically in a vehicle approximate height direction is installed in the insertional section 30, whereby gas fed to the insertional section 30 from the gas blowoff part 14a is blown toward both the upper and lower parts of an inner part of the air leg 16 from the blowoff opening 34. |
