PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal processing water soluble oil extremely good in grinding properties and cutting properties, easy to separate other oil-soluble oils when leaked and mixed into a dilution oil, without worsening the working environment and discharging a waste liquid and capable of sufficiently contributing to the saving of resources, the prevention of the global environmental pollution and further, the improvement of productivity. SOLUTION: The metal processing water soluble oil contains (a) 1-40 wt.% extreme pressure additive; (b) 0.01-10 wt.% polymeric cationic compound; (c) 0.5-15 wt.% alicylic amine and/or aromatic amine; (d) 2-70 wt.% monocarboxylic acid and/or dicarboxylic acid and a basic substance necessary to neutralize and solubilize the carboxylic acid in water; (e) 1-30 wt.% polyoxyakylene glycol; and (f) balance water. It is preferred that the extreme pressure additive contains at least one compound selected from the group consisting of chlorinated compounds, synthetic sulfur compounds, phosphorus compounds and organometallic salt compounds. |
