PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic copolyester resin composition excellent in productivity, moldability, processibility and mechanical properties. SOLUTION: The polyester resin composition comprises (A) a polyethylene terephthalate or a copolyester containing at least 60% of ethylene terephthalate recurring units, (B) a polymer containing an alkali metal salt of a carboxylic acid and/or an alkali metal salt of a higher fatty acid and (C) an organic compound containing an ester bond in the molecule and having anηsp/c of less than 0.3 dl/g, a Tm of not higher than 260 deg.C, an acid number of not higher than 2 KOH mg/g, a hydroxyl value of not higher than 5 KOH mg/g, an amount of pyrolyzates at 320 deg.C of less than 8.0 wt.% and a number average mol.wt. of not higher than 3,000.
