The present invention provides compositions and methods for immunotherapy, and in particular for inducing an immune response against an antigen in a patient. Thus, in one aspect, this invention provides genetically modified antigen-presenting cells which are more potent presenters of exogenous peptide than parental antigen-presenting cells. Compositions comprising these genetically modified cells and a carrier, such as pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, are further provided by this invention. The genetically modified antigen-presenting cells of this invention can be used in adoptive immunotherapy or to expand a substantially pure population of immune effector cells. Methods for expansion of the substantially pure population of cells are also provided by this invention. |
