The invention relates to a method for increasing the resolution of an image, especially of a TV image. The method comprises the following steps: compiling, digitizing and storing image information to an original image having a given number n1 of pixels in s1 columns and z1 lines. In addition, a data compression inverse transformation is compiled and stored. The data compression inverse transformation is applied on the original image in order to obtain a target image having a number n0 of pixels in s0 columns and z0 lines. The obtained target image having an improved resolution is stored and/or optionally displayed. |
