FIELD: wood-working industry, in particular, devices for timber sawing. SUBSTANCE: the band sawing machine has a frame formed by longitudinal beams coupled by cross-members and having longitudinal guides. The machine has a carriage mounted on the frame for longitudinal motion and consisting of longitudinal beams with wheels engageable with the guides of the frame beams and a gantry consisting of vertical posts. The lower ends of the posts are fastened on the longitudinal beams of the carriage, and the upper ends are coupled by cross-members; fastened to the posts are vertical guide rods carrying a cross-arm for vertical motion. The cross-arm carries the sawing member formed by a band saw tightened on the driven pulley, and a drive pulley actuated by a power unit, which has an internal combustion engine, mechanism for cross-arm vertical movement and a device for installation of the log to be sawn.
