FIELD: paper industry; metering facilities. SUBSTANCE: method relates to installation of coreless roll of absorbing paper in metering device. Installation of roll comes to orientation of coreless roll in required position inside metering device and fastening of coreless roll to metering device by piercing coreless roll by at least one projection which passes between adjacent layers of paper in coreless roll. This prevents radial displacement of coreless roll relative to metering device in operation. Mechanism for temporarily holding coreless roll in preset orientated position in process of fastening coreless roll to metering device can be provided.
