摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that low power consumption can be attained without any cost-up even when using ferroelectrics, and excellent display characteristics can be obtained without burning liquid crystal. SOLUTION: Lower electrodes 302a-302c, intermediate electrodes 304a-304c, and upper electrodes 306a-306c are arranged on the upper and lower faces of upper and lower two layer ferroelectric layers 303 and 305 between a drain electrode 307b and a pixel electrode 313. Each lower, intermediate, and upper electrode is intermittently arranged so that the position of each electrode can be made different between the lower electrode and the intermediate electrode, and between the intermediate electrode and the upper electrode. A small capacitor is formed at a part where the upper and lower electrodes are overlapped so that polarity between a small capacitor formed by interposing the ferroelectric layer 303 and a small capacitor formed by interposing the ferroelectric layer 305 can be made opposite.</p>
