PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal transmission system in which a natural video image is reproduced and displayed without companding processing. SOLUTION: A transmitter side system 100 includes memories 42, 44, a moving image discrimination circuit 40 and a read control circuit 12. The moving image discrimination circuit 40 compares the received digital video signal with a digital video signal stored in the memory 42 to detect (discriminate) a moving image block. The digital video signal is read in the prescribed order of a block unit and sent to a receiver side. In the case that a moving image block is detected at reading, the moving image block is sent to the receiver side with priority. Thus, display contents of each moving image block are frequently updated. |
