PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily execute menu display capable of obtaining quick and easily understandable operability. SOLUTION: The menu display device including a display screen (electronic view finder EVF) 11 for displaying information including at least characters and a menu display means for displaying a table of selectable functions or items to be specified on the display screen 11 by a menu display format consisting of plural hierarchical structure is also provided with a pointing means 9 for pointing out one of selectable functions or specification enabled items displayed on the display screen 11 and a display hierarchy control means (microcomputer) 7 for displaying a menu of a hierarchal step next to a hierarchical step for executing selection related to the pointed function or item when the function or item selected by the means 9 is not required to be selected, so that operability for setting up a function can be improved.
