ARTICLE IMAGE PICKUP METHOD AND ELECTRONIC COMPONENT MOUNTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article image pickup method and electronic component mounting device which can stably and securely perform the image recognition of an article and an electronic component by an image pickup means and prolong the life of a lighting means at low cost. SOLUTION: Image information is obtained by momentarily lighting up an article in a stopping or moving state by the lighting means 2 made of a light emitting diodes and picking up an image of the lit article (b) by the image pickup means 1 consisting of a CCD camera; and the lighting by the lighting means 2 is performed by supplying a current larger than the rate current value of the light emitting diode to the light emitting diode and obtaining the quantity of light larger than that corresponding to the rated current value that the light emitting diode has and the image pickup operation by the image pickup means 1 is carried out during a series of successive moving states without any stop of the image pickup means 1.
