PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing costs, to reduce the occupancy area of a supporting member, and to improve a contrast rate without necessitating any process for aligning a mask when the supporting member is formed. SOLUTION: Openings 9a, 5a, and 5b are formed at a first pixel electrode 9 and a black matrix 5 of a substrate 1, and a supporting member 18 constituted of negative resist cured by the exposure of an ultraviolet ray from the substrate 1 side through those opening 9a, 5a, and 5b for supporting a sealing plate 11 so that an interval with the substrate 1 can be made constant is provided at the positions of the openings 9a, 5a and 5b. |
