AUTOMATIC METER INSPECTION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the connection of an automatic inspection meter and to improve the reliability by automating the management of correspondence relation between a terminal and the automatic inspection meter on a communication line. SOLUTION: The automatic inspection meter 4 with an ID number is connected to the terminal 3 connected to a center device 1 through the communication line consisting of a telephone line 5 and a power distribution line; and the terminal 3 sends an ID number call command, the automatic inspection meter 4 sends its ID number back to the terminal 3, and the ID number is stored in an ID number storage memory 36 and sent to the center device 1. The center device 1 holds the sent ID number as management data of the terminal 3 and automatic inspection meter 4. Then, a communication with the terminal 3 is performed by using the ID number as an address.
