摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive brittle material with which a current-shutting non-return type safety device for an Li ion secondary battery can be efficiently designed and operated and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A conductive brittle material contains 70 to 98 wt.% Al, the specific resistance of the material being 10 μΩ-cm or less when the contents of materials other than Al are less than 5 wt.% and 200 μΩ-cm or less when the contents are 5 wt.% or more. In a method for manufacturing the conductive brittle material, 70 to 98 wt.% Al powder having particle diameters of 300 μm or less and average particle diameters of 70 to 150 μm and 2 to 30 wt.% powder of materials other than Al, having particle diameters of 200 μm or less and average particle diameters of 10 to 100 μm are used, and vacuum hot pressing is performed. High-melting-point materials having HF resistance, such as C or conductive ceramics or high-melting-point metals, are used as the materials other than Al.
