PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a policy for developing an R-TM-B permanent magnet having high magnetic performance. SOLUTION: This R-TM-B permanent magnet has a grain boundary phase near the interface between an R2 TM14 B magnetic phase and an R3 TM grain phase has a rhombic structure, and the magnetic phase is in alignment with the grain phase. In an R2 TM14 B intermetallic compound, the R contains larger than or equal 50 at.% Nd and Pr, and TM is Fe or Co and contains larger than or equal to 50 at.% Fe. In addition, an R3 TM alloy contains larger than or equal to 90 at.% R. Moreover, in the R2 TM14 B intermetallic compound, the TM contains larger than or equal to 50 at.% Fe and >=0.1 at.% Co and, in an R3 TM intermetallic compound, the TM contains larger than or equal to 90% Co. |
