摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve generating efficiency by selecting the impedance of a generator which is connected to a main power engine for driving it, so that the gradient of output power versus rotational speed of the generator approximates the gradient of output power versus rotational speed of an output shaft for the main power engine. SOLUTION: In a power system such as a hybrid electric vehicle, the rotor shaft 20a of the generator 20 is connected directly to the output shaft 11s of a main power engine 11. The internal impedance of the generator 20 is selected so that the gradient of the operating curve of the generator 20 (the gradient of the output power versus rotational speed) approximates the operating gradient of the output shaft 11s for the main power engine 11 (the gradient of output power versus rotational speed). As a result, it is thus possible to improve the efficiency of the generator 20 over the entire speed range and reduce the fuel consumption of the main power engine 11.</p>
