SOLUTION: An article registration means 4 sums up the price amount of the article based on a code read from a bar code attached to the article, calculates a tax or the like and calculates the paying amount of a customer. A money receiving/paying means 5 performs the updating by adding a money receiving amount to the balance of the IC card 1 or subtracting the paying amount from the balance of the IC card 1.
